France’s crude steel production up in August

According to the data from the French Steel Federation (FFA), French crude steel production dropped by 6.6% year-on-year to 1.34 million tons; however, production rose 21.7% to 1.16 million tons.

Also, the electric arc crude steel production dropped by 12% to 505.50 tons in July and increased by 9.8% to 181,850 tons in August. Production from blast furnace was down by 3.1% to 837,900 in July and up by 24.2% to 979,050 tons in August.

From January to August this year, the total crude steel production were 10.52 million tons, down by 2.3% compared to same period in 2012. Integrated mill's production increased by 3% to 6.86 million tons.
